Hugh Jackman Will Host The 2014 Tony Awards.
"Guys, I couldn't wait another minute; I wanted you to be the first to know," Hugh says before he shares his good news. This will be the fourth time the Tonys veteran has hosted the prestigious Broadway awards and he won his own Best Musical Actor Tony back in 2004 for his lead role in The Boy From Oz.
"We are thrilled to have Hugh Jackman return to host the Tony Awards," said Jack Sussman, the executive VP specials, music and live events at CBS Entertainment, via THR. "Hugh is the ultimate performer - actor, singer and dancer - he does it all, second to none. He is a consummate entertainer and the one you want out there hosting your live television event."
June Seems So Far Away Now...
Last year's glittering awards ceremony was hosted by How I Met Your Mother actor Neil Patrick Harris, who set the bar dauntingly high for all following hosts with his quick wit and effortless hosting charm. However, this year Harris will be amongst the contenders for the prize Jackman won a decade ago - the musical lead actor - for his role as a German transgender rocker in the upcoming production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
It's unlikely that seasoned Tony host Jackman, who after this year will tie with Harris for the most times hosting, is feeling too under pressure, but even so there's still a lot of responsibility resting on the talented 45 year-old. "We are excited that Hugh will be joining us, once again, at Radio City Music Hall to host the 68th annual Tony Awards," said Charlotte St. Martin, the Broadway League's executive director in a joint statement with Heather Hitchens, executive director of the American Theatre Wing.

"Hugh is an extraordinary talent and loyal supporter of the Broadway community - whether he is onstage or in the audience - and we are honored to have him back as host."
The 2014 Tony Awards willl take place on Sunday 8th June at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. CBS will broadcast the awards show from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT.
