Harrison Ford's Reddit AMA: Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Blade Runner
Harrison Ford took to Reddit to answer your questions, lets keep the Star Wars to the minimum.
Harrison Ford gave fans the chance to ask him anything yesterday when he partook in one of Reddit’s famous AMA sessions. From Star Wars, to Indiana Jones and even Blade Runner, Ford was ready to answer anything about his illustrious career so far, here’s a few things we learnt from the session.
Harrison Ford gave Reddit users the chance to ask him anything
First off, the session might have been ‘ask me anything’, but a lot of the questioned focus on Ford’s part in one of the most famous movie franchises of all time, Star Wars and these got a mixed response from the actor. We did learn the the famous “I know” line wasn't as much of an ad lib as a "suggestion'' as Ford calls it, first tried in rehearsals. It also turns out that Ford was surprised when he was offered the part of Hans Solo, despite the fact he’d helped George Lucas audition the rest of the cast. Some fans then decided to get Ford’s opinion on one of their hottest topics, 'who shot first in that famous Episode IV cantina scene, Han Solo or Greedo?' But it seems Harrison doesn't share their intrigue as he simply answered “don’t know, don’t care’’.
It’s also worth sparing a thought for poor old Lando, whom Ford called "Lando who?” when asked if he was still mad at him. Ford was also asked who would with in celebrity boxing match: Han Solo or Indiana Jones? Where the answer was “the promoter”, (obviously). Then who would win between Ford and Mark Hamill? Harrison's backing himself in this one answering "me of course’’.
Some long term misconceptions were also laid to rest, such as Ford isn't really afraid of snakes, he actually likes them. Also what’s the movie line he gets asked to do the most? Well it’s actually, “Get off my plane”. The former Hans Solo was more open when talking about the possibility of a new Blade Runner, saying, "I'm quite curious and excited about seeing a new script for Blade Runner if in fact the opportunity would exist to do another, if it's a good script I would be very anxious to work with Ridley Scott again, he's a very talented and passionate filmmaker. And I think it would be very interesting to revisit the character.”.
Harrison Ford, don't rule out another Blade Runner yet
For some, the opportunity was not so much ask Harrison anything, as tell him anything, as one fan laid out their feelings clearly saying “I love you” to the actor, to which he replied “I know”, We’re assuming that this time, it was an ad lib.
