So, Now Water Has Feelings. When Will Gwyneth Paltrow Learn?

We’re veering away from thinking that Gwyneth Paltrow is pretentious towards thinking she’s just outright bonkers. Like, we can sort of get on board with the whole “conscious uncoupling,” divorce is an ugly thing and creating a more positive term and concept behind it isn’t totally looney. Then there was that whole “office mothers” thing, in which Paltrow compared being an office mother to a film actress, a far harder and more time consuming job in her opinion. We can kind of forgive her for this because, well, growing up in Los Angeles, the daughter of actress Blythe Danner and director Bruce Paltrow, it’s obvious she’s going to be a little void of reality. Paltrow’s probably never met a real working mother, at least not one who isn't the CEO of a company with numerous au pairs.

Gwyneth Paltrow Water Gwyneth Paltrow has published a blog talking about the "science" behind how negativity impacts water

When she married husband Chris Martin, English middle-class hero, we figured there must be something slightly down to earth about her for the relationship to work, but hey, it didn’t, so there goes that theory. She’s regularly sprouting new age nonsense, but her latest statement may be the most outrageous yet.

So, what exactly is it that she’s said this time? Well, Paltrow published on her website GOOP:
“I am fascinated by the growing science behind the energy of consciousness and its effects on matter. I have long had Dr. Emoto's coffee table book on how negativity changes the structure of water, how the molecules behave differently depending on the words or music being expressed around it. Below, Dr. Sadeghi explores further.”

Right, so firstly who is Dr. Emoto? Emoto is a “researcher” who performs non-scientific experiments on water. You heard us right. There is literally NOTHING legitimate about his experiments, the findings of which he claims he has discovered that water reacts negatively to hurtful words. Real scientists have actually tried to recreate Emoto’s experiment. Unsurprisingly, they have failed.  Dr. Emoto’s research is enough proof for Gwyneth though, because who needs evidence to support a theory? Not Ms. Paltrow!  If it sounds wacky, she's a subscriber.

Gwyneth Paltrow WaterGwyneth Paltrow has ruffled a few feathers with her bizarre beliefs and ignorant comments

Now we’re sure that Paltrow will post some super pretentious follow up blog explaining her stance on the whole sensitive water thing and we’re really looking forward to reading it. Anyone that genuinely believes water has feelings is sure to produce enough drivel to entertain us. In the meantime we probably won’t avoid saying hurtful things around water because...we’re not crazy.
