It has been over a week since Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris martin's 'Unconscious Uncoupling' announcement was made, but they are still reportedly close. The 41 year-old actress and the 37 year-old Coldplay frontman, who share two children together, separated after being married for ten years.

They are still friendly because, according to People Magazine, the pair have been "on and off" for quite some time and an official separation has been expected for a while now.

In the April 14th issue of the celebrity magazine a source, who is allegedly close to their situation, made some rather shocking revelations.

"They were physically separated and emotionally," the insider told the mag. "They always have been comfortable doing things apart. No one thought that was unusual."

Their extended periods of time apart reportedly resulted in each of them meeting new people, as the British singer has been linked with Kate Bosworth, Helena Christensen and a friend of Paltrow's Kate Hudson.

However, both Christensen and Hudson have publically denied these allegations, but Bosworth hasn't yet spoke of them.

The 'Iron Man' actress has also been at the center of cheating rumors, from a relationship with billionaire Jeffrey Soffer to a fling with 'Glee' producer Brad Falchuk.

But the source reveals that this may have not even been a big deal if Martin and Paltrow had cheated. "If Chris was playing around, Gwyneth didn't care. She's never been jealous or territorial. Her philosophy is, 'we're both adults. We make our own choices.'"

"They have been on and off for many years," another source said. "The marriage was falling apart. It caused both of them tremendous pain, and they tried to fix it day after day." Another pal said, "The writing was all over the walls. I'm surprised it took this long."
