Guardians of the Galaxy is still three weeks ago from hitting cinemas - it's Rotten Tomatoes page still baron, save for one Marvel fan who isn't really looking forward to it that much. However, whispers around the comic book movie universe suggest something big is on the horizon.

Guardians of the GalaxyChris Pratt in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

Jim Starlin, the legendary Marvel figure who created Guardians villain Thanos, was at the recent premiere and had some pretty encouraging words for fans of the studio. In fact, he suggested James Gunn's sci-fi was pretty much Marvel's best movie to date.

Speaking on Facebook, Starlin said: "Just came from the premiere of 'Guardians Of The Galaxy.' With all the hype I expected to be a bit disappointed. It just couldn't be as good as everyone was predicting. And they were wrong. It's even better than everyone said. It just might be Marvel's best movie yet."

Starlin really didn't have to do this. He previously fell out with Marvel after not being invited to a pre-screening of The Avengers, despite Thanos appearing in the post-credits sequence.

Rocket RacoonHey, It's Rocket Raccoon

"[T]his is the second film that had something I created for Marvel in it - the Infinity Gauntlet in "Thor" being the other - and both films I had to pay for my own ticket to see them," he told the Los Angeles Times at the tme.

Now, there's always the risk that Starlin's kind words on Guardians of the Galaxy are designed for him to stay in Marvel's good-books, tough we're pretty sure he'd call it either way.

What do you guys think - will 'Guardians of the Galaxy' be the finest Marvel movie ever?

Saw it a couple of days ago. I give it a 3/5. It's aimed at pre-teens and kids. Not much there for adults. Some of the action scenes are good. Descent kung fu. Terrible music that's been in a hundred other famous movies. Plot is a mindless glowing MacGuffin, as usual with Marvel. It's no Winter Soldier that's fo' sho.

I didn't see it yet, I'm basing this over anothers review. On imdb There 2 positive reviews, while there another 2 which says the movie wasn't as great as people were expecting. Overhype can really hurt an movie in the long run if you expecting TOO much. I don't want people to go in expecting the greatest marvel movie of all time, and then come out disappointed.

I just looked at IMDB. Tons of positive early reviews. Kaylyn... are you the ONE PERSON who saw this movie who hated it? Because you seem very invested in SUPPOSED negative reviews.

Prove it, Kaylyn. Show is the reviews that call it terrible. I haven't seen a single one and I looked for every hashtag on Twitter and did a Google search. Not a single "worst movie ever" or any such thing. Nothing but positivity.

Im not trolling. I'm being serious, I'm not talking about the twiiter reactions. I'm talking about real people who attended press screenings to talk about it. Some said It was great while others did say it ranged from being okay to bad. Over hype can be a dangerous thing.

So far I've only seen positive reviews coming out of the premiere. I don't know if it's going to be the best of the MCU, but I'm expecting a kick-@$$ movie and it sounds like they've delivered.

Kaylyn I don't know if you're trolling but early reviews have been extremely happy with this film with several claiming it as Marvel's best So no it's not a misleading article
