Grammys Finale: Nine Inch Nails, Queens Of The Stone Age, Dave Grohl, Lindsey Buckingham Announced

Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham have all been announced to play at the finale of the upcoming 56th annual Grammy Awards, which will take place on Sunday.

Nine Inch Nails
Nine Inch Nails Have Been Confirmed To Play At The Grammys This Year.

Such a gathering of alt-rock icons will represent a Grammys first for QOTSA and Nine Inch Nails, true rock 'n' roll leviathans. "We're incredibly excited about this number," Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich said in a statement, via SPIN. "There's nothing better than when the Grammys can rock out, and to have these artists all together on one stage, doing a number that, when they presented it to us, knocked us out, is going to turn out to be one of those Grammy moments that people talk about for a long time. Long live Trent, Josh, Dave and Lindsey and these great bands!" Ehrlich added.

Dave Grohl

13-time Grammy winner Dave Grohl is up for two nominations, despite his main group Foo Fighters having not released any new material within the last year. Instead, the busy frontman is up for prizes for his involvement in Sound City Players, the band he formed with Sir Paul McCartney and the remaining members of Nirvana. Together, the rock supergroup are nominated for Best Rock Song for 'Cut Me Some Slack.'

Queens Of The Stone Age

Grohl is also up for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for Sound City: Real to Reel, the Grohl-directed documentary about the legendary, closed-down L.A. studio, which features an appearance from Buckingham. Meanwhile, QOTSA have been nominated for two awards: Best Rock Album for ...Like Clockwork and Best Rock Performance with single 'My God Is the Sun.'

The rock-tastic finale will be preceded by an equally enviable roster of musicians, including Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis who are also set to play.

Lindsey Buckingham
Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham Will Be Playing At The Grammys This Sunday.

With such a tightly-knit group of musicians and friends playing some of this and last millennium's greatest tracks, the Grammys 2014 is sure to be an event to talk about for the rest of the year. Any chance we can get sneaked in round the back door?

The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS this Sunday.
