For teenagers and 20-somethings, Lena Dunham’s Girls is a welcome, constant reminder that you can never really figure out life. After last week’s hilarious episode, this week’s "She Said OK" takes on a much less exciting tone when Hannah turns 25 and everybody else seems to be having the quarter life crisis. Proceed with caution, spoilers ahead.

The girls continue to struggle with that most middle-class of problems - the quarter life crisis.

While Adam and Hannah’s relationship is once again strained – this time by a visit from Adam’s completely crazy, but possibly abused sister, Caroline – Marnie is having the most intense phone call of her life. See, her budding career as a pop star (remember when that happened last season) has resulted in a hilariously terrible faux-90s music video, in which she twirls her pigtails, wears a lot of eyeliner and sings the line “Religion is the smile of a dog.”

Cut to Mamrie screaming at a Youtube employee to take it down. Something happens to Ray, whom we don’t really care about and then it’s time for Hannah’s birthday party. Organized by Marnie and Hannah’s parents and with a guest appearance by Caroline, you can cut the awkwardness at the party with a knife.

Shoshanna and Jessa show up just in time for an ill-advised stroll through memory lane, which leads to Shoshanna saying the best line of the entire episode: “It’s really amazing that all three of you have accomplished so little in the four years since college.”

David shows up, after which we get a touching reminder that Hannah’s friends actually love her quite a lot. So much so that they're letting her air out their dirty laundry in her upcoming ebook. Then comes the highlight of the episode. Seriously, even if you’re not that into Girls, everyone should see Marnie cornering Hannah for a surprise performance of Take Me Or Leave Me. Yes, the one from Rent. It’s so cringe-worthy, you’ll actually be relieved when the song gets cut short by a bar fight in the next room – starring Ray, of course, who is really angry at some dude for changing a song midway.

“It’s not fair to end things in the middle. Do you understand the concept of the queue? It’s the only thing separating us from the animals,” he says. This may or may not have something to do with his breakup with Shoshanna.

Hannah and Adam walk home, where they find Adam’s sis having a mental breakdown. Bottom line: she’s here to stay.
