Gia Allemand is on a life support machine in hospital.
Gia Allemand - you may remember the name, or the face. She was a contestant on the season 14 of The Bachelor - the reality show that sees a load of attractive women trying to win the hearts of one lucky guy.
According to a representative for the star, she is in critical condition following a serious emergency medical event - the details of which are currently unknown.
Allemand's mother is said to be with her, along with her long-time boyfriend, NBA basketball star Ryan Anderson. According to E! online, the family is asking for privacy at this time.
"@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing...cause unknown...next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone," health and beauty expert Melinda Farina, a good friend of Gia's, tweeted a couple of hours after the announcement.
"I'm so sad about my best friend right now...how could this have happened to such an incredible person.she needs to come out of it!" she added.
Later, Farina added: "Everyone I will keep you posted if I hear anything further right now it's not good-we all need to stay positive though she's tiny but strong."
Allemand's representative tweeted an update on Wednesday, saying, "Understand everyone has questions about #GiaAllemand - another statement is pending for tomorrow...Prayers pls."
Gia made it to the final of the Jake Pavelka season of The Bachelor, though lost out to Vienna Girardi. The model and actress later joined the cast of reality series Bachelor Pad in 2010, though only made it to the third week.
