George R. R. Martin Posts New 'The Winds Of Winter' Chapter, Internet Breaks Down

George R. R. Martin has stirred his fans into a frenzy of excitement after he released a new chapter from his forthcoming novel, The Winds of Winter, online after a brief announcement via his blog. "Hiya kids, hiya hiya hiya," he wrote, adding "With season 4 of HBO's GAME OF THRONES almost upon us, I thought the time was ripe for me to give my readers another taste of WINDS OF WINTER."

And so, a new piece of his A Song of Ice and Fire series, which has been adapted as Game of Thrones, was bestowed upon the internet. Fans rushed over to the writer's website en masse to read another chapter from Martin's fantasy world but with so many trying to access the post at once the site crashed and showed error message for the millions of readers hungry for their next hit.

Here is an excerpt from the new 'The Winds of Winter' chapter:

She woke with a gasp, not knowing who she was, or where.

The smell of blood was heavy in her nostrils. or was that her nightmare, lingering? She had dreamed of wolves again, of running through some dark pine forest with a great pack at her hells, hard on the scent of prey. Half-light filled the room, grey and gloomy. Shivering, she sat up in bed and ran a hand across her scalp. Stubble bristled against her palm. I need to shave before Izembaro sees.
