Fox Hires 'Clueless' Actress Stacey Dash As New Commentator

Fox News Channel isn't known for venturing into Hollywood, but the network's latest addition is all about showbiz.

Fox have hired the former 'Clueless' actress Stacey Dash as a paid contributor after both parties were involved in several talks over the last few weeks, The Hollywood Reporter notes.

So what does this new job position entail for Dash?

The 47 year-old, who portrayed Dionne "Dee" Davenport alongside Alicia Silverstone in 1995 flick, will offer her cultural and political insights to the news channel, appearing on primetime and daytime.

Dash is already known to be involved in political matters prior to landing this gig, she surfaced in the world of politics when advocating for Republican Mitt Romney over Democrat President Barack Obama in the last presidential election.

This led to the actress appear on several television shows, which included being guest co-host for a day on 'The View' and 'CNN's 'Piers Morgan Tonight,' to discuss her political views.

As Dash is an African-American women, she received a lot of backlash from the black community for going against a black candidate.

"Stacey is an engaging conversationalist whose distinctive viewpoints among her Hollywood peers have spawned national debates - we're pleased to have her join Fox News," said Bill Shine, network executive vice president of news.
