Foo Fighters, The Roots Added to 2014 Super Bowl Weekend Lineup
Super Bowl weekend in 2014 is going to be just as big of an event as the game itself, and A-list musicians are being added to the festivities.
Super Bowl weekend just got a whole lot more interesting. The Foo Fighters and the Roots were both just added to the festivities, according to Spin.
The Foo Fighters performing in London
The Foo Fighters are set to perform on February 1st, the day before the game, along with the Zac Brown Band. While the pairing may seem a little odd, the bands are actually friends. Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters produced Brown's last EP. The Foo Fighters are currently working on a new album, and said to expect a "little secret" very, very soon.
The Roots will be performing "The Roots Present Hip Hop NYC" along with guests Run DMC, Busta Rhymes and others, on January 30th. They are taking a break from their day job (or, night job) as the house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Imagine Dragons will be performing on January 31st, just days after their announced performance at the Grammy Awards, where they are up for two trophies.
Bruno Mars was previously announced as the halftime performer at the 2014 Super Bowl, but it's not clear if he will be performing alone. It's not often a solo performer is given the huge task of performing before an audience of hundreds of millions, but so far it looks like that is the case.

Fall Out Boy and Jake Owen are two more musicians that have been added to the lineup — they will be performing just before the game on February 2nd.
Super Bowl XLVIII will take place on February 2nd at MetLife Stadium, where both the New York Jets and New York Giants play, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
