Phil Robertson - Following Phil Robertson's Reinstatment, Religious Group Vows To Keep A Close Eye On A&E's Values

The Duck Dynasty storm continues after fans of the show petitioned A&E to reinstate Phil Robertson to the show after his homophobic comments. With Robertson back on the cast, a religious organisation is now taking aim at A&E’s broader values as an organisation. The fans in question are a religious group called Faith Driven Consumer, now appealing to A&E to reflect on their “biblical based values”, ABC News reports.

Robertson Family
The Duck Dynasty clan were the first to step up and defend their patriarch.

Chris Stone, founder of the organisation which started the IStandWithPhil.org petition, has now issued a statement directed at the network, in which he says: "Do they also now embrace the biblically based values and worldview held by the Robertson family and millions of Faith Driven Consumers?"

By the time Robertson was brought back to the hit series, the petition had amassed over 260,000 signatures. Now FDC are going a step further in their statements: "Faith Driven Consumers will remain vigilant as we measure whether A&E's actions reflect true tolerance, diversity, and mutual respect -- including their equal embrace of our biblically based values and deeply held beliefs," wrote Stone.

Those in support of Phil Robertson’s suspension, however, have claimed that his statements in the GQ interview, which sparked the conflict, were on their own in conflict with the network’s policy of diversity and tolerance. In the interview, the Duck Dynasty patriarch said that homosexuality was just “not logical” and gave a long-winded and somewhat confusing quote about black people in pre-Civil-Rights-Movement Louisiana.

Willie Robertson, Jace Robertson
Phil's sons, Jace and Willie Robertson, along with the rest of the family, threatened to quit the show unless their father was reinstated.
