FIFA 15 On PC Will Be Playing Catchup No More - Ignite Engine and System Requirements

FIFA has always been a slightly less enjoyable prospect for PC owners; keyboard controls are great for FPS games but not so good for sports titles, unless you hook up a 360 pad. But the main gripe for non-console FIFA fans, though, is that is falls short graphically, despite the huge potential for gaming PCs to make games looks their absolute best.

Well this looks like it’s going to change for the upcoming iteration of the long-running football franchise. The PC version of FIFA 15 uses the EA Sports Ignite engine, which was announced last year as the power behind all EA Sports games on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One. "The PC version will include all the same core features coming to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game," EA said.

This week is doubly good for PC gamers, too, as drivers were released to allow the Xbox One controller to be used “with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller” on PC. No one knows why it took this long to get that particular innovation going, given that 360 controllers have been compatible with PCs for years, but hey, what are you gonna do?
