Hip-hop singer Fergie may have made her name as part of pop group Black Eyed Peas but she's shown that rock music is where her heart lies, after collaborating with Slash and now has named her first born child after the guitarist's former band, Guns n' Roses.

She and her actor husband, Josh Duhamel, had a baby yesterday (29th August) - a little boy who weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces. It takes some parents a few days to decide what they'll call their new bundle of joy but Fergie and Josh wasted no time in naming their son Axl Jack Duhamel, in honour of Guns n' Roses' notorious frontman, Axl Rose.

Fergie is a massive fan of the band, as evidenced by her covers of some of their greatest hits and a collaboration with the band's former guitarist Slash on his solo album. She also performed with Slash during Black Eyed Peas' 2011 Super Bowl half time show.
The 38 year-old 'Don't Phunk With My Heart' singer, who had three baby showers during her pregnancy, gave birth via a Caesarean, according to TMZ. She is currently recuperating in an L.A hospital's VIP suite not dissimilar from the one Kim Kardashian famously stayed in. Duhamel, a model, was said to be cool and calm throughout Fergie's childbirth, supporting his wife of four years in their life-changing experience.
Fergie and Josh excitedly announced the pregnancy back in February with an Instagram photo. "Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!! #mylovelybabybump," she titled the snap which showed two young children with a cat. The Scenic Route actor told the LA Times in the early stages of his wife's pregnancy that preparing to be a dad at 40 was "exciting." "I hear all my friends telling me about how fantastic it is and all the things that go along with being pregnant and the stages of it all. But until you're actually going through it you can't even relate," he said in March.

"He's got natural parenting instincts," said Fergie proudly of her man whilst the pair awaited their first child. "He's going to be an amazing father."
