Fast & Furious 7 is due to resume filming, although sadly without veteran cast member, Paul Walker. 40 year old Walker died tragically in a car crash in November 2013, midway through filming the upcoming addition to long running series. Walker had starred in the very first movie in the franchise, The Fast and The Furious, back in 2001 as Brian O’Connor, FBI agent turned criminal spurred on by his involvement with hijacker Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel.

The plot of Fast & Furious 7 will focus on Vin Diesel's character Dominic Toretto and his crew as they attempt to lead normal lives, but Ian Shaw, played by English hardman Jason Statham, is after revenge and once again the whole crew is threatened. They must find the man who killed their own crewmember, Han, before he finds them.

When Walker died in November allegedly 85% of the movie had already been shot, so fans will feel as though they have a full movie of Walker to say goodbye to him and his most famous character. Apparently the producers have slightly tweaked the plot to make it feasible to continue even though that Walker had not finished filming some of his remaining scenes. They have also managed to work it in so that Walker’s character retires rather than is killed off, although how they manage to do this we’ll have to wait and see. Do you think that they'll be able to manage this realistically?

Filming is due to resume on March 31 and Vin Diesel has hinted that this date has the green light, after he posted on his Facebook page: “The transition into Dom’s state of mind has always been an interesting one. Only this time there is an added purpose, a collective goal to make this the best one in the series...P.s. The long awaited completion of Seven, begins..”

There will definitely be an overwhelming sense of sadness on set when the cast finally do manage to get back together to complete filming. Walker had been a valued member of the Fast and Furious family for 12 years and the actors all seemed fairly close in real life as well.

Actor and model Tyrese Gibson, who plays Roman Pearce in the franchise told Access Hollywood that he was sure shooting the upcoming scenes would be “rough”, although he added that “at the end of the day, Paul would want us all to keep going.”
