Eric Clapton Apologizes To Concertgoers For Walking Out Of Glasgow Show

Eric Clapton was forced to apologize to his fans for walking out of a concert in mid-performance.

The rock legend left the sold-out crowd at Glasgow's SSE Hydro very angry after by storming off the stage just over an hour into the show on Saturday (June 21st).

Clapton's decision was met with a chorus of boos, and some concertgoers were even demanding a full refund after spending £125 on a single ticket.

A spokesman for the former Cream frontman explained that a technical issue wasn't' fixed and he was unable to continue with the concert.

"Unfortunately last night we experienced a steadily worsening technical problem with the PA system that the band battled with throughout the show," his rep said. "But by the last song of the set it became unbearable on stage and Eric was unable to complete that number."

"During the encore break we were able to reset and the band finished as planned with the last number," the statement continued. "The usual touring set length runs at 1hr 35 mins so in fact the full set was performed apart from the entirety of Cocaine which had to be curtailed."

Adding, "Eric is nevertheless sorry for the break in the concert."

Fans were left confused after Clapton suddenly walked off stage during a performance of 'Cocaine,' but he returned a few minutes later and told the audience "sorry about that."

Many wondered why the 69 year-old didn't explain what the issue was.
