Evan Peters Thought Emma Roberts Was "Weird"
Emma Roberts during her interview with Chelsea Handler on 'Chelsea Lately' described how her now fiancé, Evan Peters, found her "weird" when they first met on the set of 'Adult World'.
Emma Roberts, the niece of actress Julia Roberts and one of the stars of American Horror Story: Coven, appeared on Chelsea Lately on Wednesday (January 29th). She told the show's host, Chelsea Handler, about her first encounter with fiancé and American Horror Story co-star, Evan Peters.
Emma Roberts discussed her relationship with Evan Peters on Chelsea Lately.
Roberts and Peters met in 2012 on the set of the comedy Adult World and, although Roberts was taken with 27-year-old Peters, the feeling wasn't initially mutual. Roberts claimed from the onset she was determined the two would get together, she told Handler: "I actually, on the set, was like, 'Oh yeah, we're totally going to date.'"
Roberts stated that, contrary to popular opinion, she and Peters did not start dating on the set of Adult World. She believes her character in the comedy was responsible for their delayed union as she was not at her most attractive. On this matter Roberts said: "I have no makeup on, it looks like I cut my own hair off, so I was not exactly looking cute to get a man. So we ended up dating way, way after."
She continued to relate how she attempted to attract his attention, which was evidently successful as the two announced their engagement earlier this month! Roberts said, during the interview, "I would try to like flirt with him, which ended up looking like I had something in my eye because I'd be like, 'Hey, what's up?' [batting her eyelashes]. And he literally didn't speak to me the entire movie. He thought I was so weird."
Handler couldn't resist asking how the two finally ended up dating and Roberts revealed it was Peters who, despite Robert's awkward flirting, made the first move. Handler asked "So then how do you get together after the movie is over? Who has to make the move? You or him?" To which Roberts responded, laughing, "Definitely not me! I'm a lady, he texted me and then we got together."
Attention was first drawn to the seemingly happy couple last July when Roberts was arrested in Montreal for domestic violence following, what the couple later called, an "unfortunate misunderstanding." In the same statement they also said they were "working together to move past it."
The couple announced their engagement earlier this month.
