Eminem Announces New Album - 'MMLP2' - During VMAs
The album, which we assume is called 'Marshal Matthers LP 2,' will be released on November 5 2013
As Eminem rocked the crowds at Reading & Leeds Festival in England over the weekend, on Sunday (25 August) night the rapper had yet another treat in store during the MTV Video Music Awards. During one of the ad-breaks in the show, the Detroit wordsmith featured in a commercial for his mentor Dr Dre's Beat By Dre headphones range, with the details of his next album included in the ad (check out the commercial below).
Em will release his next album before 2013 is over
The ad came moments after Eminem's Twitter and Instagram accounts exploded with teasers from Em about his upcoming album, the first since 2010's Grammy-winning Recovery, and not only revealed the release date of the album but also told us who Em has been working with on his latest full-length effort. With Dre and the legendary Rick Rubin serving as the album's executive producers, the album will be out on 5 November later this year.
In addition to his social media and VMA presence, Em also updated his official website this weekend in anticipation for his upcoming album and also revealed the details behind his next single. The track 'Berzerk' will be the first single released from the album, with the video and download of the track being made available on Tuesday (27 August) this week. With it's release fast approaching, the rap mega-star also uploaded two teaser trailers for the single on to his website too.
The release of MMLP2 will be the umpteenth release from modern music royalty over the course of the year, with fellow rap titans Jay-Z and Kanye West releasing their latest albums earlier this year too. Given the mixed-reception of his last release, we're hoping that MMPLP2 will be received as warmly as Yeezus, rather than comparing to Jay's atrocious Manga Carta Holy Grail, as Em has hopefully re-discovered the fire inside him that made him one of the biggest rap artists of all time. Here's hoping at least.
Lets hope that MMLP2 won't be a flop
