In addition to reprising her choruses on ‘Love The Way You Lie’ and ‘The Monster’, the Barbadian singer also provided Dido’s vocal parts for ‘Stan’, which drew enormous cheers from the packed-out crowd. It’s not the first time that Eminem has snagged another superstar to duet with him on the 2000 hit single – he performed it with Elton John at the 2001 Grammy Awards.

The mammoth 28 song set spanned Eminem’s entire career from his 1998 debut The Slim Shady LP to last year’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2. It also featured a three-song medley of his self-referencing hits – ‘My Name Is’, ‘The Real Slim Shady’ and ‘Without Me’ – before an encore of ‘Lose Yourself’.

The Lollapalooza festival, which for every year since 2005 has been held in Grant Park, Chicago, was also headlined by Outkast on Saturday and Kings of Leon on Sunday. Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, Calvin Harris and Skrillex also played.

The ‘Em & RiRi’ collaborations have proved extraordinarily successful. ‘Love The Way You Lie’ currently standing as the biggest-selling single of Eminem’s career with 9.3 million copies sold globally and the biggest-selling single in the UK in 2010, while ‘The Monster’ was a cross-Atlantic number one single when it was released in October last year and notably charted inside the Top 10 in every single territory in which it was released.
