Eminem Raps Really, Really Fast in 'Rap God' - Faster Than WatskyHD?
Is Eminem the fastest rapper alive? Well, no. But please read my article anyway.
Eminem probably isn’t a rap god, but he’s certainly part of the elite. Like his virulent, insightful lyrics – delivered with conviction, alacrity and more importantly, speed - or not, there’s a reason he’s one of the best selling rappers alive.
His new single, Rap God, is more-or-less six minutes of continuous rapping. And there are two sections where the gears shift up and the Detroit rapper’s top speed peaks.
Uh, sama lamaa duma lamaa, you assuming I’m a human
What I gotta do to get it through to you I’m superhuman
Innovative and I’m made of rubber
So that anything you say is ricocheting off of me and it’ll glue to you
I’m devastating, more than ever demonstrating
How to give a motherfuckin’ audience a feeling like it’s levitating
Never fading, and I know that the haters are forever waiting
For the day that they can say I fell off, they’d be celebrating ’
Cause I know the way to get ’em motivated I make elevating music, you make elevator music.
And before any of you clowns get uppity, forthright and sanctimonious; “Uh, sama lamaa duma lamaa” is a reference to JJ Fad’s classic, “Supersonic.” It’s a popular reference to make. Killer Mike (sort of) does in his track, Go! “Have a nigga missing like JJ Fad/Beat a nigga dead like JJ dad,” he says before spitting out a “Shumalumadumalumashmalumaduma.”
Have a listen; it’s ridiculously fast. Eminem, that is, but listen to Killer Mike too. He’s really good. Is Eminem’s lightspeed rapping quicker than the one-time YouTube sensation, Watsky HD? The “pale white kid” stunned viewers with his mad annunciation skills. Also, his pro-gay “go gay baby, rock that crib” is preferable to Eminem’s numerous homophobic lyrics. But that’s nothing to do with speed.
According to Rap Genius, Eminem doesn’t figure in the top 10 fastest rappers in the world. Twisted Insane is top, while Busta Rhymes is second.
According to the Guniess World Book of Records, “The fastest rap MC is Chojin (a.k.a Domingo Edjang Moreno) (Spain) who rapped 921 syllables in one minute on the set of 'Guinness World Records', in Madrid, Spain, on 23 December 2008.”
So there you go.
