Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Greets Mother Being Released From Hospital After Drunk Driving Crash
The former Wrestling champion's mother and cousin were hospitalized after being hit head on by a female drunk driver.
Even though Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is one of the toughest, biggest and muscle-bound actors in Hollywood, he is still a mommy's boy at heart, and this is clearly obvious when the 41 year-old picked up his mom from hospital after she was involved in a car accident.
Johnson's 65 year-old mother, Ata Johnson, and his cousin, WWE NXT Diva Lina Fanene, were hospitalized after getting hit head on by a female drunk driver who was speeding away from the police, on August 2nd in Clermont, Florida. The intoxicated woman was also reportedly checked into hospital and later charged with driving under the influence.
The wrestling star posted a sweet photograph on Instagram of himself pushing his mother, who was in a wheel chair with a cast on her left arm, out of the hospital doors.
"Takin' mama home," the caption read. "Banged up, but she's a tough one and will make a full recovery. Grateful to see her smile. And thank you guys for all the prayers, love and well wishes. #GratitudeAndBearHugs #ChoicesMatter #100PercentPreventable #DontDrinkAndDrive."
As previously reported, Ata and Lina were both travelling in a white 2012 Cadillac Escalade, which Johnson gave his mom for Christmas in 2012, when the incident happened. The 'Hercules' actor shared a rather chilling photo of the wreckage on Sunday via Instagram which showed two vehicles smashed in the front and an ambulance parked in the background.
"My mom & cousin @linafanene were struck head on by a drunk driver this week - they lived," he captioned the photo. "First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them."
"But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days," he continued. "Hug your own family tighter today and be grateful you can tell them you love them. #BearHugsAndGratitude #100PercentPreventable #ChoicesMatter."
