Drunk Driver Who Collided With Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Mother And Cousin Slapped With DUI Charge
The drunk woman, who crashed into The Rock's mother and cousin, is now facing criminal charges for the head on collision.
Johnson's mother and cousin were in the car at the time of the crash
The horrific car crash occurred on August 2nd in Clermont, Florida, even though Johnson only revealed the news Sunday (Aug 10th), and prior to the incident the drunk woman had already ran two red lights, TMZ reports.
The professional wrestling star's mother, Ata, and cousin, WWE NXT Diva Lina Fanene, who were riding in a white 2012 Cadillac Escalade Johnson gave Ata for Christmas in 2012, were both hospitalized after the incident but did not suffer life threatening injuries.
The 'Hercules' actor shared a rather chilling photo of the wreckage on Sunday via Instagram which showed two vehicles smashed in the front and an ambulance parked in the background.
"My mom & cousin @linafanene were struck head on by a drunk driver this week - they lived," he captioned the photo. "First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them."
But on second thought, Johnson decided to use this opportunity to share some very inspirational words with his followers.
"But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days," he continued. "Hug your own family tighter today and be grateful you can tell them you love them. #BearHugsAndGratitude #100PercentPreventable #ChoicesMatter."
Fanene also posted a collage picture on her own Instagram that featured a photo of Johnson visiting her in hospital on Friday (Aug 8th). The aspiring wrestler also shared another pic of herself wearing an arm sling. "Still all smiles! Very grateful to be alive and for the love from all of my family and friends! Incredibly blessed!" the caption read.
