Dolly Parton escaped a collision with only minor injuries when a car she was travelling in collided with another as she was travelling through Nashville, Tennessee. Parton's Xterra was being driven by 68-year-old friend Judy Ogle and the Diamante by 64-year-old Diane Lish, who police later determined was at fault for the crash for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. The accident occurred when the vehicle being driven by Lish pulled out of an intersection on Vaulx Lane and Kirkwood Avenue, failing to stop in time for the Xterra carrying Parton to pass. The two cars collided on Monday, 21 October, morning at around 11.41 am.

Parton and Ogle were both rushed to the nearby Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, whilst Lish was taken to Centennial Medical Center. There, all three were deemed to have only suffered minor injuries and were discharged later in the evening. Police said at the time of the crash that none of the injuries seemed serious at the time.

After she was given the all clear and discharged from hospital, Parton took to Twitter to inform her fans of the crash, and was soon sent a tidal wave of sympathetic messages from her Twitter followers. She tweeted, "I was in a fender bender this morning here in Nashville, but I am all good... Just a little tired and sore. Resting at home now!”
