The video for the track, which you can see below, features revellers at the Dalston Roof Park in London as they experience the drum & bass pioneer’s track for the very first time. It was at Original Penguin's 'Plugged In' rooftop party in the summer.
Friction has become one of the more prominent figures in the British drum & bass scene in the past decade. He was inducted into the D&B Hall Of Fame at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards in 2011 and became the main star of Radio 1's Sunday D&B show.
In an interview last year, Friction talked of the emergence of dance and drum & bass music in popular culture. “A few years back, guitar music was very popular; but last year saw a rise in dance music. It got to a point where I swear every dance track had an element of trance in it. But the music scene always changes,” he told Planet Notion.
His last single, Led Astray, was a huge hit on the radio, leading to his affiliation with the BBC’s flagship genre show. He is now touring the UK and has a European event lined up for October. Next up for the popular DJ is a studio album, which will, of course, feature Long Gone Memory.
