VH1's New Show "Dating Naked" Reveals The Bare Truths Of Love
VH1's new show deals away with the pesky barrier of clothes from the get-go. "Dating Naked" premieres tonight.
Have you ever wanted to take all the guesswork out of dating? VH1’sDating Nakedlays it all out there – literally. The premise is a fairly simple one – two strangers take the quick road to intimacy by, you guessed it, going on several completely clothes-less dates.

And if this seem extreme, it’s not even the first time that a network has tried to expedite the dating process. The new show premieres tonight, just nine days after FYI debuted its own Married at First Sight. On it. two strangers are paired by “a team of experts” and then hastily married, so that their entire courtship happens post-ceremony. No, we don’t get it either.
Obviously, as proven by the stats of Tinder and OK! Cupid, or ratings for The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, there are a lot of people out there desperate to believe in love, so Dating Naked is actually on the pulse of cultural trends – more or less. The show bills itself as “the art of romance free of pre-conceived notions, stereotypes.” Stereotypes about body type and physical presence don’t count, apparently.

Once everyone has “stripped away the artifices of our modern world and revealed their ultimate, honest selves,” VH1 promises the results will be surprising. But viewers, who are in it for the nudity, need not apply – Dating Naked will be edited, according to network standards.
