The First Elimination! 'Dancing With The Stars' Waves Goodbye To The First Couple
Who was kicked out after the first week's results?
Dancing With The Stars is back for a seventeenth season and the second episode gave viewers the opportunity the vote off who they thought didn't deserve to return to dance for another week. Last week's dance routines saw a mixture of foxtrot, cha-cha and contemporary as the twelve contestants tried to kick off the competition on a high note.
Keyshawn Probably Shouldn't Have Been On The Show.
The first show saw Amber and Derek placed first, whose high-energy cha-cha performance in front of an audience containing members of the Glee cast was praised by judges for its precision, netting the pair a cool score of 27 - tying the ten-season-old record set by Kristi Yamaguchi of Season 6 for highest score in Week 1.
Corbin and Katrin placed a tied second with Elizabeth and Val: both couples opted for smooth contemporary routines that showed each to be superbly in sync. On the other end of the scale, Bill and Tyne's cha-cha was placed last with a shameful 14 points. Even though their concept was strong, Bill Nye's dancing was bad enough for Len to dust off the "4" paddle as a mark on disdain.
Brooke Burke-Charvet Returned As Host.
Keyshawn Johnson and Sharna's cha-cha was marked almost as equally bad with just 17 points. Sharna dazzled in her golden outfit but Keyshawn seemed to walk around woodenly rather than dance. Hypable are kind about Bill and Tyne's dance, but described Keyshawn's routine as "positively insufferable" topped off with an emphatic "ugh!"
However, it wasn't just dancing that made the football player look silly; some of his quotes may have raised a few eyebrows. "Dancing is feminine," "English and Australian is the same thing," "Sharna is like the quarterback, she makes mistakes" garbled Johnson through the episode.Needless to say, by the second results week, he and Sharna were voted off.
Tom Bergeron Also Took On Hosting Duties.
Week 2 was Latin night, and viewers looked forward to samba, rumba, paso doble, or jive routines. Last night, the heat was turned up on the DWTS dancefloor as elaborate routines and saucy outfits were debuted. Bruno Tonioli declared in his typically flamboyant style that he was coming down with "scarlet fever" as a result of Elizabeth Berkley's striking crimson dress and their sexy samba.
Elizabeth and Val tied second with Christina Milian and Mark Ballas who chose the paso doble. However, it was Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff's jive to One Direction's 'Kiss You' got the loudest screams and the highest ranking, having been awarded 26 points for their energetic routine.
Amber Riley & Her Partner Derek Hough Were Champs Again.
Overall, Amber Riley and Derek Hough stayed at the top with their total score of 51 and Bill Nye and Tyne stayed stuck to the bottom of the rankings with a total of 31. Bill and Tyne managed to avoid to chop last week though, so who do you think will be the next voted off?
