Kesha - Malaysian Concert Ban Over Conflict With Religious Beliefs Leaves Ke$ha And Fans Disappointed

Despite her colorful party girl persona, Ke$ha isn’t typically a celebrity, whose name often features in gossip headlines. However, the Crazy Kids singer did make news recently, after her Warrior Tour was banned from Malaysia, according to Rolling Stone.

Ke$ha's act was deemed too provocative by the Malaysian government.

Now, Ke$ha has always been known for Risque performances and wild videos, although she’s kept it pretty tame in real life. However, the Malaysian government has ruled that her performances “'touched on religious sensitivities and Malaysian values” and therefore do not have a place in the country.

The show was intended to take place at Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur this past Saturday. However, the concert was cancelled last minute, despite Ke$ha’s agreement to cut and change various elements of the show, including costumes, lyrics and even dance routines. According to Ke$ha’s own twitter, the Malaysian government threatened to imprison the singer, if she went forward with the performance anyway. She also apologized to the disappointed fans, saying: “yesterday was hard for me… I just wanna share my music and life with you guys…

Despite the unpleasant turn of events, the pop star still has a lot to look forward to in the near future with the release of the second season of her docu-series My Crazy Beautiful Life in just three days. The series is an MTV production, the first season of which tracked the pop star over two years of her rise to stardom. The original eight episodes debuted on MTV in April and after the channel announced that the series was renewed for a second season, a premiere date was set for October 30.
