Chris Martin has given Sunday fans at Radio One’s Big Weekend a special treat by making a special appearance, joining Kings Of Leon on stage to open the final day of the festival in Glasgow. The night before Martin and Coldplay had closed the first night of the festival, leading the crowd in a chorus of 'Fix You'.

Martin added his guitar skills to the song ‘Fans’ from the bands 2007 album Because of the Times. The Nashville rockers then closed their set with a roaring rendition of 2008 hit ‘Sex is on Fire’ for the some 25,000 fans at the free music festival.

Yesterday Coldplay went down a storm, headlining the main stage, performing tracks from new album Ghost Stories as well as hits from all six studio albums. They ended their set by leading the crowd in a sing-a-long of ‘Fix You’ while fireworks lit up the Glasgow sky.

But Saturday also kicked off with a bang as One Direction opened the main stage. The rest of the day saw performances from Lily Allen and Pharrell Williams on the main stage as well as Katy B and Lorde on the In New Music We Trust stage.

The two day festival organised by Radio One was free for lucky fans who snapped up tickets within an hour of their release in March. Tonight the festivities will continue with Rita Ora, Tinie Tempah and Kasabian all scheduled to perform before Katy Perry closes the event.
