Singer Ciara Engaged To Rapper Boyfriend, Future, After Birthday Proposal

Hip hop artist Ciara has become engaged to her boyfriend, the rapper Future, the couple's publicist has confirmed to the Associated Press. The 'Goodies' singer was reportedly celebrating her 28th birthday in New York when Future got down on one knee.

Ciara Prepared To Become Mrs. Future...Sort Of.

The couple have been officially dating since January 2013 and have been spotted out together at high-profile events, including the MTV VMAs a few months back. The rap star, real name Nayvadius D. Wilburn, is said to have proposed to his love with a stunning 15-carat diamond ring.

Though Ciara may be more well-known than her fiancé, his career is definitely on the up with a current support slot on Drake's Canadian tour underway and a collaboration with Rihanna under his belt. The 29 year-old has one child from a previous relationship and was involved in controversy when the mother filed for child support in 2012 which required Future to take a DNA test to prove he was the father.

Future & Ciara Have Been Dating Since Early This Year.

After his DNA matched his child's, Future was ordered to begin to pay child support of $1662 a month, according to The Daily Mail. In the meantime, another woman has come forward to claim that her child is also Future's but her claim is yet to be tested.

Grammy-winning Ciara has had a recent hit with 'Body Party' but her most well-known tracks include 'Goodies,' 'Promise' and 'Like a Boy.'

Ciara Was Surprised With A Truly Dazzling Ring On Her Birthday.

On Sunday, Ciara broadcast her sheer joy to the world with a succession of excitable tweets. "If I'm Dreaming I Don't Want To Wake Up..Aaaaaahhh!!!:)," she tweeted along with "Today Has 2 Be Like One Of The Sweetest Days Of My Life! #TheBestBirthdayEver," finishing her stream with a single heart.
