Actor Chris Pine has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI).

The 33 year-old attended a court hearing in Ashburton, New Zealand on Monday, following his arrest on March 1st.

Pine was fined $93 New Zealand dollars and had his New Zealand driving licence suspended for six months.

The Hollywood star was pulled over by the authorities in the early hours of March 1st after he was leaving a wrap party to celebrate the end of filming the movie 'Z for Zachariah,' which is due out next year.

Pine told police he had drunk four vodka beverages after failing a sobriety-test, The New Zealand Herald reports.

The court was told he returned a blood alcohol reading of 113mg to 100ml, the legal amount for drivers in New Zealand is 80 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

The judge at Ashburton District Court believed Pine to be remorseful after pointing out his compliance with police and pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity.

The 'This Means War' actor's lawyer Marilyn Gilchrist, asked the judge for a discharge without conviction, but this was denied.

Gilchrist highlighted the fact that it will be difficult for Pine to obtain a visa to work in Canada, but the judge replied by stating, "This issue of a visa will be a complication, but you're no different to other people who may wish to travel to Canada."

Casey Crawford, the manager of The Blue Pub which hosted the wrap party, said at the time that Pine "seemed fine" and was accompanied by his supermodel girlfriend Iris Bjork Johannesdottir.

"He looked like he just wanted to spend time with his partner. I think she just flew in that day," Crawford added. "I thought he was really friendly. A really, really nice guy."

Pine, who has been shooting alongside Australian star Margot Robbie, and Brit Chiwetel Ejiofor, is best known for his role as 'Captain Kirk' in the rebooted 'Star Trek' Franchise, and most recently starring in 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit'.

That's a bummer for him, but he did the right thing just admitting he was wrong. Hopefully he'll get over this incident and be able to put this past him, as he's a great actor and seems like a good guy.
