The couple appear to remain on friendly terms in spite of their 'conscious uncoupling'
Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow were seen together at a movie screening on Monday evening, and “seemed really happy together” according to an onlooker.
Chris Martin was spotted with Gwyneth at a film screening in New York this week
The pair, whose ‘conscious uncoupling’ earlier this year was widely reported, both attended a screening of Hector and the Search for Happiness at East Hampton, New York. Paltrow hosted the evening for comedy actor Simon Pegg, who stars in the film and is a long-time friend of both her and Martin. He is also godfather to the couple’s first child Apple, and Martin in return is godfather to Pegg’s daughter Tilly.
Though the Coldplay frontman arrived at the event separately, he escorted Paltrow’s mother Blythe Danner. Though he was not sat at the same table as his estranged partner, he was spotted chatting with her and other friends including Pegg. Another onlooker commented “I don’t know what’s going on with them, but they seem really happy”.
Because of the couple’s separation, Coldplay’s recent album Ghost Stories, released back in May, was widely interpreted as a break-up album, with many reviewers analysing it in the context of famous heartbreak records like Blood On The Tracks.

The couple have two children together: daughter Apple (10) and son Moses (8). Martin recently stated that there’s still “a lot of love” between himself and Gwyneth, but also maintained that they are still separated.
More fuel for the ‘conscious recoupling’ fire, though.
