Cher will appear on next week's (4 Nov.) edition of Dancing With the Stars, not just to perform some of her new material and try and shift some extra units of her recently released album, but also to serves as a guest judge on the popular entertainment show. Whilst regular judge Len Goodman is off for the week, back in his native Great Britain for judging duties, Cher will step into the hot seat and cast her critical eye over the remaining contestants.

Of course, Cher will also be performing some of her new material and trying to shift some extra units of her new album, Closer to the Truth, but her main duties will be to fill in for Len. DWTS host Tom Bergeron revealed the surprise to fans during last night's (28 Oct.) airing of Week 7 of the dancing contest. Previously, Julianne Hough has stepped in as guest judge the other time Goodman was away this season, on October 7 (Week 4).

According to Variety, Cher will open the show with her 1998 comeback single 'Believe,' and will bring the show to a close with a rendition of new single 'I Hope You Find It.'

This will be the first of many TV appearances from Cher ahead of her extensive 2014 tour to support her new album, and she has also appeared on The X Factor, The Voice and two non-music-related shows as well, The Late Show with David Letterman and Today already. Her tour will begin in Phoenix on 22 March.

Cher recently released Closer to the Truth to a considerable about of critical acclaim and comercial success. The album debuted at number 3 in the Billboard 200, beating her previous record for highest charting debut entry in the Billboard album chart. Her previous record was with 1998's Believe and 2003's The Very Best of Cher, both of which both at number four.
