Cher has officially confirmed her guest appearance on Wu-Tang Clan’s upcoming album. According to Forbes, Cher will lend her iconic voice to two tracks on Wu-Tang’s upcoming “secret album,” The Wu – Once Upon A Time In Shao Lin. The album is shrouded in mystery at this point and, in classic Wu Tang style, the hip hop group has kept mum about the project. The collaboration was announced by Cher’s rep, who said on Tuesday: “She recorded her parts separately, so I don't believe there was direct interaction.”

Wu-Tang Clan
This will be Wu-Tang's first album since 2011.

In a video posted by Forbes on Tuesday, writer Zack O'Malley Greenberg traveled to Marrakesh, Morocco to "become the first civilian" to hear the album. Apparently Wu-Tang are making only one physical copy of the record, to be sold to the highest bidder. Tarik "Cilvaringz" Azzougarh, the album's producer, played one song on-camera. The track features Ghostfaced Killah, rapping over a fast beat with a high-pitched female vocal (not Cher) in the background. At the end of the track, Cher sings, "Wu-Tang, baby. They rock the world."

Cher
Cher is featured on two songs on the new album.

It’s a very brief guest appearance, but according to the announcement, this isn’t the only song the 80s icon is featured on. Apparently the collaboration had been announced early on the album’s website, except it was only hardcore Cher fans could get the message. The announcement promoted “special appearances by Bonnie Jo Mason.” In 1964, Cher released "Ringo, I Love You," her first solo single without Sonny Bono and a tribute to Ringo Starr, under the pseudonym of the same name.
