Bruce and Kris Jenner put the rumours that they are living apart to rest this week with a joint statement released by E! News stating that they are, and having been living separately for some time. But the split is an unusual one because despite the separate living arrangements, the pair have reiterated the fact that they are still an item, but they are "happier this way," with their separate living arrangements.

In their joint statement, the couple, who have been married since 1991, said they "have much love and respect" for each other and will remain close, but insisted that the separate living arrangements were a necessary adjustment to their life. In a separate statement to Us Magazine, Kris further explained the new marriage arrangements, stating that there was "no animosity" in the split, and telling the publication that she and Bruce remain "united and committed to our family."

The couple, who have apparently been living apart for about a year now, married 22 years ago and have two teenage daughters together, Kendall, 17, and Kylie Jenner, 16. Kris' four other children, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob all come from her previous marriage to lawyer Robert Kardashian, and Bruce has four children from his two previous marriages; Burt, Casey, Brandon and Brody.

Their split may have a silver lining yet however, as it has been reported that fellow warring Kardashian Khloe and her estranged husband Lamar Odom have been spotted together for the first time since the beginning of summer, as they put on a united front in the face of Khloe's mother's seperation. Still, in spite of the recent showing, the pair are still believed to be closer to divorce than a reconciliation.
