Brooke Burke-Charvet Axed As 'Dancing With The Stars' Co-Host For Season 18

'Dancing With The Stars' will not only have new contestants when it returns to ABC, but the hosting line-up has also have seen a change.

Brooke Burke-Charvet and the television network have parted ways just as Season 18 is weeks away.

"Weird day..Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS.ME," she tweeted on Saturday morning (Feb 22nd).

"I won't be returning to the show this season," she added.

The 42 year-old television personality began her co-hosting duties back in Season 10 as Samantha Harris's replacement.

But prior to this, Brooke won the show with partner Derek Hough in season 7.

"Thanks for all the love & support. I loved my time in the ballroom & I'll love my next chapter too. Change is positive," she tweeted later in the day. "Love you guys!"

"We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season," read a statement from Conrad Green, executive producer of the ABC show, (via The Hollywood Reporter).

"She's been a wonderful part of the Dancing with the Stars family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We'd like to thank Brooke for her years of great service."

Burke-Carvet released her own statement to E!News on Friday. "I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture," she said in a statement. "I've always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn't able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake."

According to People, joining Tom Bergeron as the new co-host will be Erin Andrews from FOX Sports, and she has also competed as a contestant on Season 10 with pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
