'Britney Jean'? The Story Behind Britney Spears's New Album Title
It's a huge year for Britney Spears, with new album 'Britney Jean' and her Vegas residency.
'Britney Jean'. There it is. The title of Britney Spears eighth album, as confirmed during her interview on London's Capital FM Radio. So what does it mean? Is it...like...a Michael Jackson thing?
"It's a personal album, and all my family, they always call me Britney Jean," Spears explained, "It's like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans." Ah, cool, just a term of endearment she wanted to share with fans.
Well, Britney Jean is due out on December 3 and apparently features some high profile collaborations, as is the norm with most pop records these days. Britney refused to name names, though we already know she's been working with Will.i.am and Dr Luke on the record. Britney recently appears on Miley Cyrus's track SMS (Bangerz) so it's plausible that the twerker will have returned the favor for Britney Jean.
She's already offered up Work Bitch from the album - a sort of weird house track with a strange video.
Everyone at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas will be praying for big numbers from Britney Jean, given the singer's upcoming residency in Sin City. Beginning on December 27, 2013, the 'Britney: Piece of Me' show will run for 100 performances in total, fusing the singer's new and old hits with a "club meets theater" feel.
Despite well documented personal problems in recent years, Forbes reported that Spears was the highest paid female musician of 2012, with earnings of $58 million, having last topped the list in 2002.
