BRIT Awards: David Bowie Prized With Best British Male, Kate Moss Accepts Award

Music icon David Bowie shows age is just a number as he wins big at the 2014 BRIT Awards in London on Wednesday night (Feb 19th).

The 67 year-old, who beat fellow nominees Jake Bugg, James Blake, John Newman, Tom Odell, was awarded with the Best British Male Solo Artist prize.

And to present the prestigious honor was none other than former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher.

When revealing Bowie had won the award, Gallagher told the audience, "You didn't think he would actually be here? He is too cool for this s**t."

But to replace the 'Space Oddity' singer was another equally as glamorous star, supermodel Kate Moss.

The 40 year-old beaut walked onto to the platform, looking very vintage as she wore one of Bowie's Ziggy Stardust outfits he made famous at the height of his career, to collect his first BRIT in 30 years.

The outfit is called 'Woodland Creatures' but is more well-known as the 'rabbit costume'.

Kate told the audience, "Good evening ladies and gentleman, David has asked me to say this."

"In Japanese myth the rabbits from my old costume that Kate's wearing live on the moon," she continued. "Kate comes from Venus and I from Mars, so that's nice. I'm completely delighted to have a Brit for being the best male, but I am, aren't I Kate? I think it's a great way to end the day."

The speech concluded with, "Thank you very, very much and Scotland - stay with us."

Bowie's award comes off the back of a surprising return to the music scene after a ten year absence, the legendary performer released his 24th studio album 'The Next Day' in March of last year (2013), and this was enough for him to collect the same accolade he last won in 1984.
