Brian Williams has become the latest celebrity to be featured in a comedy sequence on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show. The 54 year-old NBC anchor unwittingly starred in the comedian and TV host's mash-up montage of Snoop Dogg's classic rap track, 'Gin and Juice.'

The Nightly News managing editor was seen "rapping" along to the profane hip hop lyrics in that his many news segments had been spliced, mixed and compiled into a montage to make it look like he was performing a very staid and serious version of the west coast rapper's instantly recognisable ode to mixed alcoholic beverages.

The 'Gin and Juice' clip may just be greater than when Fallon made 'Rapper's Delight' in February, using Williams' voice and The Sugarhill Gang's lyrics to devastatingly funny effect. In an interview with Fallon, the news anchor and father to Girls star Allison Williams discussed his newfound rap icon status and how Fallon's videos have made him the talk of the music industry.

"It's all anyone mentions to me anymore," Williams told Fallon on Monday on his hidden talent. "I've never said 'hippity'," the anchor added, insisting he has no part in assisting with the famous clips.

He also revealed how actor Cuba Gooding Jr. now sees him as a bonafide musical star: "He said, 'You are a huge figure in the rap and hip-hop communities,'" Williams confided.

This is the second time this month that Fallon has mined the seemingly endless hilarity of using unlikely celebrities to give a sophisticated flavour to hip hop tracks. Anne Hathaway appeared on the 8th April show during which she performed a medley of rap tracks, including Snoop's 'Gin and Juice.'

The fairly new Tonight Show host also collaborated with Justin Timberlake to bring "The Evolution of Rap" to the late night entertainment show, rifling through the greatest defining hip hop songs from the past three decades, including Salt-N-Pepa, LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, and Jay Z.
