Brad Pitt is keeping on with the theme of military films and, with the help of Animal Kingdom helmer David Michod, is tackling a fresh subject – the controversial Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the former commanding general of international and U.S. forces in Afghanistan. McChrystal first became a household name in the US, when he was profiled for Rolling Stone back in 2010.

Michael Hastings’ profile easily sparked controversy, exposing the general and his staff's disdain for their superiors, including National Security Advisor James L. Jones, Vice President Biden and President Obama, and ultimately prompting McChrystal to resign.

Michod has been attached to write and direct this adaptation of the former army general’s story, with Pitt producing through his Plan B, along with New Regency and Brett Ratner's RatPac Entertainment, according to the LA Times
