The frontman of the 80's group, Boy George, has developed a polyp on his throat, and a doctor has ordered the 53 year-old star not to sing as he may need to undergo an operation.

"It is with great regret that the members of Culture Club have announced the cancellation of their tours in North America and the UK scheduled for November and December 2014," the band announced by press release Thursday (Nov. 13), via Billboard.

The statement also said the band are "devastated" over the cancelations, and tickets will be fully refunded at the point of purchase. "We are hoping we can reschedule the concerts for next year, and hopefully George's problem will be resolved," Culture Club added.
