Big Bang Theory Cast Pestering For More Cash Per Episode

The cast of The Big Bang Theory are reportedly in talks to be paid a higher salary per episode filmed. The show's three lead actors, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, are seeking potentially enormous pay rises and will negotiate with the show's bosses to reach an agreement.

Jim Parsons, AKA Sheldon Cooper, Could Earn Up To $1M Per Episode.

Parsons, Cuoco and Galecki, who's characters Sheldon, Leonard and Penny sit at the centre of the show's events, currently get paid $325,000 per episode. The last time the trio negotiated a pay rise was in 2010 but the show has since seen a much higher level of success.

The three actors are expected to command anything up to $1 million per episode this time round, according to TV Guide Magazine's report. Meanwhile, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, AKA Howard and Raj, may seem like two of the show's most prominent characters alongside the other three but are paid much less than Jim, Kaley and Johnny. Now, they too are said to be seeking pay rises.

The news of further pay rises at camp BBT comes after the recent deal co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, AKA Amy and Bernadette, signed with the show to guarantee their characters' longevity on the comedy series as well as raises secured in the process. As reported by THR, Rauch and Bialik's original earnings of $20-30K per show has risen to $60,000 with an increase to $100K by the end of their new contracts.

Kaley Cuoco
Kaley Cuoco's Salary Could Be Set To Skyrocket.

The cast push to collectively get raises may be a result of the show's increased awards success and related merchandise spin-offs that have helped push the show's popularity further. If the three leads have their salaries pushed up to $1m per episode, their earnings will be in line with sitcom Friends' actors who commanded lucrative $1m contracts by series 9 and 10.

The Big Bang Theory's seventh season will begin next week.
