Arguably what could be Florida's most fun-packed 3-day event of the year, Big Guava Music Festival makes its debut today (May 2nd 2014) with an impressive line-up headlined by Outkast, Vampire Weekend and Foster The People.

There's a lot of things we like about Florida, and we reckon Big Guava's inaugural event will definitely be one of them. Set against the glorious city backdrop of Tampa, this festival is bound to be the highlight of your year as it arrives at the Florida State Fairgrounds and Mid-Florida Credit Union Amphitheatre. As well as  40 awesome bands on 4 different stages, you got your craft beers, your diverse food trucks and your epic fairground rides (which are free, by the way) that will keep you busy in between performances from a line-up that prides itself on its quality over quantity. Having said that, we still think you're going to be spoilt for choice with this lot.

Betty Who is the opening act of the festival

Friday kicks off with some emerging musicians including Aussie newcomer Betty Who and LA indie band Smallpools following close behind. The rest of the day is all about the duos with Ohio pair Twenty One Pilots, noise pop artists Sleigh Bells and, finally, the reunited Outkast are here on their latest festival stint having already been the subject of much chatter at both Coachella and CounterPoint festival.

Tegan and Sara are among the many duos we're rooting for at Big Guava

An equally eclectic mix is delivered on Saturday with another duo, Canada's Tegan And Sara; psychedelic San Diego collective Slightly Stoopid; indie chart sensations Vampire Weekend; LA sibling quartet Haim; and, all the way from the UK, rock trio Band of Skulls who recently unveiled their well-received third album 'Himalayan'.

Foster The People headline the final day

Rappers Earl Sweatshirt and Chance the Rapper hit the mic on Sunday for some much needed hip hop relief to cheer people up on the last day, while bluesy rock singer ZZ Ward and New York alt pop duo Ms Mr give us something a little bit different to immerse ourselves in over the rest of the day. Headliners Foster The People will bring the evening to a close, while hopefully playing some material from their recent album 'Supermodel'.

If this sounds like your kind of festival, you can still purchase full weekend tickets at $165 general admission, with single day tickets at $75. Hurry up though; there's not long to go!
