Better Call Saul hasn't even finished filming yet, but AMC have decided to take their option on a second season already. Perhaps that, and the newly released photo, are designed to remedy the fans disappointed by today's third bit of BCS news: the show has been delayed until 2015.

Many will be watching the AMC spin-off because they genuinely believe it'll provide a worthy back story to one of Breaking Bad's most entertaining characters: Saul Goodman, the criminal lawyer charged with handling Walter White and Jesse Pinkman's exponentially tricky situations. But others will be watching, like me, with a pure sense of morbid fascination. I don't think it'll be very good, but I enjoyed Breaking Bad enough to know that I'll find something to like. Plus I am - of course - interested to see what they do with Saul's back story.

The newly released photo sees Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould on the set of with lead star Bob Odenkirk, who has enjoyed roles in 'Nebraska' and TV's 'Fargo following his popular stint on AMC's meth drama. "Production on Better Call Saul is under way, and we could not be more proud of, nor more excited about, the work to date. We join the fans in eager anticipation for this series, and today we happily confirm that our initial Saul order is for two seasons and a total of 23 episodes," AMC president Charlie Collier said. "When introducing any series, especially one with the DNA of Breaking Bad, there are countless factors to consider in making sure the show gets the launch it deserves. No half measures."
