Ben Affleck Responds To Batman Backlash: "I'm A Big Boy"

Ben Affleck has been subject to fan scrutiny as of late after Warner Bros. announced that he would be starring as Batman in an upcoming epic collaboration with Henry Cavill in the 'Man of Steel' sequel.

Since the announcement, fans have took to the internet to voice their opinions on the casting. They are in a unanimous agreement that Affleck isn't the man they wanted to follow Christian Bale's portrayal in 'The Dark Knight' trilogy.

Well the 41 year old finally responded to the 'haters' during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on his 'Late Night' talk show.

Affleck firstly discussed how he was at first sceptical about taking the role "They called me up and said, 'Do you want to do this?' and I thought, 'I'm not 25, are you sure?"

He was eventually swayed to take the role by director Zack Ryder, who showed the intentions with the new version of Batman, which Affleck thought was "an incredible take on it".

The studio, thrilled with the' Argo' star accepting the role, were quick to inform him of the potential retaliation he might receive from fans, warning that this process "can be trying". The bravado of the future Batman surfaced as he exclaimed "I'm a big boy", he also told Fallon "they said, 'Just don't use the Internet for a couple of days.' What do you mean? I handle s--t, you know what I mean? I'm very tough".

Admitting he ignored their advice, the 'Good Will Hunting' star ventured on the internet to see what the world actually thought, and the first reaction he came across simply read, "NOOOOOOOO!". Affleck certainly found out that reading internet comments is maybe not a good idea, but hopefully they don't put him under too much pressure, and the performance will prove the 'haters' wrong.

The Boston native was announced as the new Batman on August 22nd 2013 and the sequel of 'Man of Steel' is slated for a release date of July 17th 2015.
