Actor Anthony Mackie was arrested this morning (9th November) in New York for driving while intoxicated. The 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' actor was taken to a nearby police station and charged in the early hours of Saturday.
Anthony Mackie, the actor best known for his roles in The Hurt Locker and The Adjustment Bureau, was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Saturday morning. The incident occurred during the early hours of this morning (9th November) in Harlem, New York. Reports suggest the actor was driving through the New York borough at approximately 1.22am when he was stopped by police.

The actor was pulled over by police, according to THR, whilst driving a 2010 Dodge Challenger near Lenox Avenue and West 125th Street. The 35-year-old actor was stopped after police noticed his car had tinted windows, something which is strictly regulated in the state of New York. It was then police officers noticed the smell of alcohol and that Mackie had blood shot eyes, as NYPD spokesperson, Sergeant Carlos Nieves told THR.
Whether or not Mackie took a sobriety test is uncertain. People report the actor refused to take a sobriety test whereas TMZ claims he failed a number of tests. Nevertheless, the Million Dollar Baby actor was apprehended and taken to the 28th precinct where he was charged with DWI. TMZ further claims Mackie will have had his license revoked for failing to undergo a blood alcohol test. Mackie was then transported to the Manhattan Criminal Court Building to await arraignment.
Anthony Mackie will appear in two upcoming Marvel films as The Falcon.
The actor has appeared in numerous films over the course of his career including, most recently, Runner Runner, The Fifth Estate and Gangster Squad. He also has roles in two Marvel films as Sam Wilson AKA The Falcon, firstly in Captain America: The Winter Solider which is due to be released in the UK in March and the US in February. He is also set to appear in The Avengers: The Age of Ultron, due to be released in 2015.
