Alec Baldwin's week has been far from easy but at least one person out there isn't trying to ruin the man's career.

The 55 year-old's daughter has come out to defend her father after he has received a rather large amount of criticism for using an anti-gay slur against a photographer who tried dot take a snap of his wife and child.

18 year-old Ireland Baldwin, like her father, took to twitter air out her frustration with the situation.

On Saturday (Nov 16th) Ireland tweeted, "It takes a lot of strength for someone to release their anger, it takes a lot of strength and SUPPORT for someone to grow and become a better person. We all say things we don't mean. We all say things we can't take back."

The rant continued, "From what you've read and from what media has been shoved down your throats, he has a kind heart. My dad is far from a homophobe or a racist. For someone who has battled with anger management issues, my dad has grown tremendously."

TMZ captured the video that surfaced online of Baldwin branding a member of the paparazzi a "c**ksucking f*g."

The '30 Rock' actor appeared very angry which is understandable as he has been in a New York City courtroom all week, testifying against Canadian actress, Genevieve Sabourin, in a stalker case.

The accused Sabourin, who claimed to have had an affair with Baldwin, was found guilty of stalking the actor and a judge sentenced her to six months behind bars.

The celebrations of this victory in court didn't last long as Mr Baldwin's homophobic slur caused the television network MSNBC suspended his new late night chat show 'Up Late With Alec Baldwin'.

This might be the last star for the Emmy award winner as he recently published a lengthy column in The Huffington Post, where he wrote, "If quitting the television business, the movie business, the theatre, any component of entertainment, is necessary in order to bring safety and peace to my family, then that is an easy decision."

Hopefully this will not happen!

So what if Alec Baldwin lost his temper and mis-spoke? We ALL do ---when we're pushed too hard. Alec's life and work shows that he is not a bigot, and he apologized for his words, which were said in the heat of the moment. Famous people, and especially their families, have a right to privacy, if that's what they want. They should not be penalized for being extraordinary or special, or for living in our city! Sure, people are curious about them, but that does not give anyone the right to ruin their lives, or provoke them, or constantly harass them. We might still have a Princess Diana, it proper privacy laws were in place, and enforced. Alec: too many people appreciate your artistic work and your progressive efforts to have you quit in disgust. Please reconsider. We need MORE people like you, not less! We are lucky and proud to have you as a part of this vibrant and diverse city. Fox News and the New York Post should be ashamed of what they do, in an effort to make money at your expense. They would LOVE to silence your progressive voice, Alec. Don't knuckle under to their taunts and provocations and harassment. Stay the course. Stay strong.
