"Bye bye 25," tweeted Adele on Sunday night before her 26th birthday celebrations on Monday evening. Turning a year older is a special time for anyone but for the Oscar-winning singer's celebratory tweet is under extra scrutiny for her following comment: "See you again later in the year x."

Adele Has Hinted That Her Next Album Will Be Called '25.'

Adele has two top-selling records under her belt, 19 and 21, prompting speculation that her cryptic tweet could be hinting at an album release this year called 25. The 'Someone Like You' star has been taking her time with her next release but could be gearing up to drop another album in time for Christmas this year.

The big-voiced star also chose to celebrate her birthday by organising a characteristically low-key gathering at the London pop-up restaurant, Kurobuta, in an intimate party attended just 15 guests, including comedian Alan Carr and singer Example.

The 26 year-old wore her unusual under-the -radar ensemble of jeans and ankle boots alongside a messy ponytail. It wasn't going to be an all-nighter for the mother-of-one, who left the small restaurant at around 11pm after her security team had loaded up the car with the goodies and presents brought by her guests, according to the Daily Mail. Adele has an 18 month-old son, Angelo, with her partner Simon Konecki and is said to be a doting mother.

It has been a very busy time for Adele since the early 2011 release of her critically-acclaimed 21: not only has she given birth to Angelo but she has also won an Oscar for her James Bond soundtrack song, 'Skyfall,' seen her album top the charts in more than 26 countries, and been honoured with an MBE by Prince Charles.

OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, who is working with Adele on some of her new tracks, has revealed that the singer is taking it slow in order to not rush her new music. "She will deliver the album on her own timetable, at her own pace, and the only person that will ever declare it finished will be her, when she decides it's finished," he explained, via Bang Showbiz.

Tedder reasoned that as one of the most successful singers the UK has ever produced, she should be forgiven for making her fans wait for her next release. "She's a mother, she has a young kid. When you sell 30 million albums, on one album, she can do whatever the hell she wants to do until forever," he said.

Talking about reports of a possible world tour on the horizon, Ryan also said: ''If she decided to tour I'm sure it will be the most incredible tour ever and if she decides not to, it will have no bearing on how amazing the album itself is because she's one in a million, one in a hundred million, one in a billion.''
