With filming once again under way following Harrison Ford's broken leg, Adam Driver explains what makes the Star Wars films so special.
Ahead of the greatly anticipated release of the seventh Star Wars film next year, Adam Driver, one of the new cast members took a moment to talk about what made Star Wars so special to him and millions of fans as children. According to Driver, the films have such a lifespan because of their grounded nature and ability to mimic relatable scenarios in a sci-fi fantasy setting.
Adam Davis was announced as being part of the latest Star Wars films earlier this year
In his interview with Total Film, Driver stated: "The thing about Star Wars that's so good - sure there's this huge [canvas]. It's space, it's a long time ago in a galaxy far away. That's set up immediately. But in the midst of all those things, what has made those movies last so long is that they're all grounded."

He continued "it's something that is not so far off from every movie with huge universal themes of siblings and parents and betrayal and trust. That's so generic and obvious, but it's hard to balance those things."
Driver will be joined by many up-and-coming actors, as well as veterans of the original trilogy. These include About Time's Domhnall Gleeson, Attack the Block's John Boyega and Inside Llewyn Davis' Oscar Issac.

In addition, the film will include Andy Serkis, Gwedoline Christie, Lupita Nyong'o and Max Von Sydow. Filming recently recommenced after original trilogy actor Harrison Ford broke his leg on set.
"I always think back to the original movies and to those quieter moments where Luke is out in A New Hope, and there are the two suns setting, and it's just such a quiet moment". He went on to say "it is the equivalent, basically, of a farm boy dying to get out of his small town and do something bigger. It's those kinds of universal themes that ground this whole thing in space."
