Actor-turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger has settled his dispute with Ohio car firm FRED MARTIN MOTOR COMPANY after they used a photo of the star without his permission.
The car company used images of the Hollywood hardman as THE Terminator in Ohio publication AKRON BEACON JOURNAL,
with text telling potential customers they could "terminate early" on their existing car leases and buy or hire from their firm instead.
Schwarzenegger's attempts to sue Fred Martin two years ago (02) was dismissed in June (04) by a California federal appeals court, who said they had no reason to hear the lawsuit, because the adverts in question were published in another US state.
Bosses at Fred Martin have agreed to pay a "substantial" sum of money to the star's Arnold's All-Stars after school programme, as well as write the California Governor a formal apology.22/08/2004 21:21
