Jeez, Paramount Pictures aren't doing themselves any favors with 'Terminator: Genisys'.
Ok, so Terminator: Genisys may turn out to be one of the finest action sci-fi movies of recent times when it's released next year but my god Paramount are doing things the hard way. Firstly, the whole Genisys thing turned out not be a joke at all and is actually the title of the film, and then Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith and Jason Clarke got cast.
Jason Clarke stars in 'Terminator: Genisys', set for release next year
And now these. Entertainment Weekly released the first official images from the movie on Wednesday (October 29, 2014) and the Twittersphere gobbled them up, chewed them up and spat them out.
Two more 'Terminator' films are planned for the rebooted franchise, and will be filmed back to back with release dates in 2017 and 2018.
There has finally been confirmation that Paramount Pictures are pursuing two more 'Terminator' movies to follow the first instalment of the rebooted franchise, 'Terminator: Genisys,' which is scheduled for release July 1st, 2015.
Schwarzenegger will return to star in the rebooted franchise
The forthcoming sequels, which are simply titled 'Terminator 2' and 'Terminator 3', will hit theatres on May 19th, 2017, and June 29th, 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter, who also claim the flicks will be shot back to back if 'Genisys' is a success.

‘Terminator: Genisys’ might still be just under a year away, but that hasn't stopped Paramount from announcing release dates for its two sequels.
Next summer Terminator will become the latest franchise to be resurrected when Terminator: Genisys hits cinemas on July 1st. The film will be the first in a series of three stand alone movies, which will see the franchise rebooted and new characters added.
Terminator Genisys will hit cinemas on July 1st 2015
Now Paramount has announced the release dates for part two and three of the trilogy which will reportedly be filmed back to back. Terminator 2, as it is currently known has been slated for May 19, 2017, followed by Terminator 3 on June 29, 2018.
Striking a tone somewhere between the po-faced original and the silly Part 2, this rampaging action nonsense is badly overcrowded and chaotic, but there's plenty of comedy and whizzy stuntwork to keep the audience entertained. It of course helps a lot that the film is packed to the rafters with iconic actors and lively newcomers. And their sassy dialogue helps make up for the idiotic plot.
It opens with a prison break, as Barney (Sylvester Stallone) and his team (Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews) rescue their old cohort Doc (Wesley Snipes) then head off on a mysterious mission that turns out to involve their presumed-dead nemesis Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who is targeting Barney's team. So Barney and his pal Bonaparte (Kelsey Grammer) set about finding four new commandoes (Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell and Victor Ortiz) to take on Stonebanks, but of course nothing goes as plan. For the final face-off they're joined by the old team, CIA boss Drummer (Harrison Ford), former colleagues Trench and Yin (Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jet Li), and chatty newcomer Galgo (Antonio Banderas).
The ever-increasing cast means that some characters can't help but be pushed into the shadows (Crews and Li are barely in this film), while others hover around the edges of scenes injecting moments of sarcastic wit. Each of the characters gets his or her moment of eye-popping action, as the film lurches from set-piece to set-piece in a whirl of bombs, bullets and blades. All of this is fun because the actors are gleefully refusing to take any of this seriously. The scene-stealers this time are Gibson, terrific as the swaggering villain, and Banderas, who's hilarious as the only person who can string a sentence together.

Big news from the "Terminator" set... more or less.
As fans of Arnold Schwarzeneggerwill probably know, The Governator will reprise his iconic role in next year’s Terminator: Genesis. Well, here’s an unexpected change – the movie isn’t called Terminator: Genesis already. It’s not a drastic change, but apparently the film has been re-titled to Terminator: Genesys.

The bizarre piece of news was announced via Schwarzenegger’s Instagram (if you’re not following him already, you really should). Arnie (or whoever is managing his social media, more likely) posted a picture of himself, sitting in a seat with Terminator: Genesys in the back.

Arnold Schwarzenegger gets one of his most complex roles yet in this messy, violent thriller, another trip to the dark side for filmmaker David Ayer. As in Training Day and End of Watch, Ayer is exploring that moral tipping point where the people charged with protecting society become a danger. But the formula sags badly in this sloppily written script, which relies on grotesque violence instead of a coherent plot.
Schwarzenegger plays Breacher, the head of an elite DEA squad that has just stolen $10m in drug-bust cash. But someone takes it from them, after which the team members start turning up murdered in increasingly vicious ways. So Breacher and his colleagues - hothead Monster (Sam Worthington), prickly Lizzy (Mireille Enos), beefy Grinder (Joe Manganiello), hotshot Next (Josh Holloway) and smoothie Sugar (Terrence Howard) - band together to find the killer. Meanwhile, two local Atlanta cops (Olivia Williams and Harold Perrineau) are also on the case, clashing with Breacher at every turn. And shadowy goons hired by a drug cartel are lying in wait.
For about two-thirds of the running time, this is actually an intriguing whodunit, complete with clues and red herrings, suspicions and surprises. There's also a sense of urgency, as we never know who's going to get it next. Although the escalating grisliness is hard to stomach (it even reduces seasoned cops to retching wrecks), as is a hint of unnecessary romance. Then when the truth is revealed, the whole movie collapses into utter nonsense, desperately straining for moral resonance but undermining its own point with gratuitous brutality.

As expected, Sabotage didn't strike a chord with the critics
Arnold Schwarzenegger has become a comedy item in the world of cinema; a pastiche trophy wheeled out next to similar fallen legends for fiscal purposes and fiscal purposes alone. But this isn’t right; Arnie should be considered a staple of the Hollywood legends club for bringing to life some truly memorable characters, without, it would seem, an iota of genuine acting nous.

The fantasy action sequel dominated the US box office during its first weekend.
300: Rise of an Empire had a storming first weekend of release during which the new fantasy action film raked in $45 million. The Zack Snyder-directed sequel battled off competition from Dreamworks' animated Mr. Peabody & Sherman, which took a rather disappointing $32.2 million, as well as the Liam Neeson thriller Non-Stop and the fantastically successful The Lego Movie.
'300: Rise Of An Empire' Has Walloped All Competition Over Its First Box Office Weekend.
300's victory may have been trumpeted but its success falls short of its predecessor's $70 million debut seven years ago and the film hasn't exactly fared well at the hands of critics. Nevertheless, the movie enjoyed a healthy opening with 3D representing 63% of all tickets sold, according to Forbes. As the only R-rated movie currently on release, 300 stands to continue its success for several weeks with only Arnold Schwarzenegger's thriller Sabotage set to pose any threat when it arrives on the 28th March.

Can Clay Aiken follow other sucessful celebrity politicians when he runs for congress in North Carolina?
Former American Idol runner up Clay Aiken has announced he is to run for congress in North Carolina in the next election. Whislt Clay’s candidacy may have come as a shock to some he’s not the first celebrity to try and enter the world of politics. Clay might find it useful to take a look at how some of his fellow celebrities have fared when they entered the political sphere, you never know one day we could be seeing President Aiken.

Many sniggered when Arnie was given the Republican nomination for the California governorship in 2003 but in an election where other candidates included Different Strokes star Gary Coleman, porn star Mary Carey and Larry Flynt it wasn't that strange. The former bodybuilder came out on top receiving over 48% of the vote and going on to hold the office for eight years. He apparently still has presidential ambitions but has once again resumed his acting career his next move is reprising his Conan the Barbarian role later this year.
Before Schwarzenegger there was another Governor you wouldn't have wanted to mess with, former professional wrestler Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura. Ventura was an ex-Navy Seal who turned to professional wrestling in the mid-70s. After lung problems forced him into retirement in 1984, he became a commentator and even appeared in a few movies. His political career began when he successfully ran for mayor of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. He then won the governorship of Minnesota in 1998 as a Reform Party candidate holding the office for four years.
Dirty Harry himself Clint Eastwood got involved in politics in 1986 when he became mayor of Carmel-by-the-sea, a wealthy small town and artists' community in California. His main political promise was to overturn a law that banned eating ice cream cones in public. Eastwood served one term and still managed to direct and star in Golden Globe winning film Heartbreak Ridge whilst in office.
Another celebrity mayor was no other than Cher’s ex Sonny Bono. The singer entered politics after being frustrated at how hard it was to open a restraint in Palm Springs, California. He went on to become the city's mayor for four years, afterwards he was elected to the House of Representatives. Bono died in 1998 and had copyright bill, the ‘Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act’ named in his memory.
The former Governator wore a totally unconvincing disguise as he handed out advice around the Venice Beach gym
Since his political career came to an end following his second term as Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger has found renewed success at the cinema and perhaps best of all, become an active internet personality too. Whether he is appearing on Reddit to answer questions from fans, recreating some of his most famous movie lines, or starring in his own viral videos, Arnie is fast becoming the King of the Internet.
Arnie clearly likes to keep himself busy
In his latest online stunt, Arnie decided to go incognito during a recent visit to the world famous Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, California, offering advice out to some of the unsuspecting clients flexing their muscles. Wearing an incredibly dodgy disguise that would struggle to fool even the most clueless gym-goer, Arnie and his fake moustache stalked the treadmills and weight sets of Gold's under the guise of instructor Howard Kleiner. He went from person to person, telling them in his trademark thick Austrian accent how to improve their work out.

A formidable group of New Orleans mercenaries led by the no-nonsense Barney Ross are starting to feel less invincible than they used to. Their latest mission sees them bump into the crazed co-founder of the elite team, Conrad Stonebanks, who Ross thought he killed a long time ago when he turned against the law and began arms dealing. Now Stonebanks will stop at nothing until everyone of the expendables are wiped out. Ross and his team are feeling less than confident and decide to enlist a fresh team of skilled warriors who are much younger, fitter and more in tune with the ever developing technology of the armed forces. Will the young and the old be able to work together to bring down their latest nemesis? Or will the generational clash do more harm than good?

John 'Breacher' Wharton is the leader of a DEA Special Operations Team who, although happen to be the most skilled in their field, don't exactly always play by the rules. In perhaps one of the biggest busts of their careers, they arrest a major cartel leader and uncover a hoard of meth, cocaine and a stack of millions of dollars, and subsequently wind up celebrating by sneaking away some of the drugs they confiscated. However, when the folks above them discover that $10 million has been stolen from the money they seized, John is forced to plead his innocence, though with the unnerving feeling that someone on his not-so-straight team is absolutely capable of doing just that. The theft leads to the brutal murder of two DEA agents and John must find out where the money has gone before another dies - however, the time he has is drastically shortened when the cartel kidnap his beloved wife and child.
'Sabotage' is the latest action-packed crime drama from director David Ayer ('End of Watch', 'The Fast and the Furious', 'Training Day') who co-wrote the screenplay with Skip Woods ('A Good Day to Die Hard', 'Swordfish', 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'). It is set to hit movie theaters in the US on April 11th 2014.
The 'Game of Thrones' star will abandon her dragons in favour of cyborgs and guns
That's right, there's going to be a remake of James Cameron's timeless 1984 sci-fi The Terminator. An inevitability considering how popular the series remains to this day, but one that no-one wanted nonetheless. On the bright side, Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clark has just been cast as Sarah Connor, so at least the eye candy has been sorted out with.
This marks Clarke's first movie into a movie franchise
The British beauty was announced as the female lead for the Paramount, Skydance and Annapurna-led reboot of the Skynet and cyborg-fighting film series, with Variety being the first to confirm her appointment. The Variety report goes on to state that Clarke tested alongside Brie Larson for the role, but Clarke managed to edge ahead of the 21 Jump Street actress in the screen tests. Supposedly, Margot Robbie was also in contention for the role, but never auditioned.

PG-13 films today contain, on average, more gun-related violence that R-rated films, a new study says.
Gun violence is becoming more frequent in PG-13-rated movies in recent years, a new study by the Annenberg Public Policy Center and Ohio State University has shown. According to the study, published in the academic journal Pediatrics on Monday, 11 November, these results show that the average PG-13-rated film does not take into consideration the supposedly strict regulations sanctioned by the Motion Picture Association of America.
According to the guidelines set by the Motion Picture Association of America, a PG-13-rated film is not supposed to exceed, or even reach the same amount of violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements found in R-rated films. However the new study shows that this isn't the case. The new study says that in fact, a number of films both match and exceed the amount of gun-related violence found in some R-rated films.
The researchers responsible for the study, Brad J. Bushman, Patrick E. Jamieson, Ilana Weitz and Daniel Romer, undertook the experiment to determine whether the presence of guns alone can increase aggression, in an effect called the 'weapons effect,' in movie audiences. They found that, since 1950, film violence has more than doubled and gun violence has tripled in PG-13-rated films since 1985, with the amount of violence in these films increasing significantly since 2009. Since then, films rated PG-13 have contained the same amount or more violence than R-rated films.
A biography of iconic filmmaker John Milius, this engaging documentary features some of the biggest stars of all time talking about their friend who changed the movies forever. And he's got such a huge presence that we love listening to his stories almost as much as we've loved watching his films over the decades. This movie also explores his controversial image as a right-wing gun lover, but the salient fact is that his friends and colleagues clearly love him dearly.
John Milius has always been a man's man. His asthma prevented him from joining the military, so he instead went to film school in the 1960s with a group that included Lucas, Spielberg, Coppola and Scorsese. And these young turks were exactly what cinema needed as the studio system ended. Milius' uncredited screenplay for Dirty Harry got him work as a writer and director, and his crowning achievement remains the screenplay for Apocalypse Now. He's also proud of his passion project Big Wednesday, an iconic surfing film that vanished without a trace when the studio abandoned it. But everything changed with Red Dawn, the teen fantasy that gave him his pro-gun reputation as a pariah. He's been less busy since, but is still working on his long-gestating epic about Genghis Khan, even though he has spent the past few years recovering from a debilitating stroke.
Like Milius himself, this is a beefy, jovial movie that zips along at a fast pace, observing telling details everywhere without any real criticism. Milius calls himself a "zen anarchist" rather than a conservative, and it's fascinating to see his life-loving personality emerge in the clips. Meanwhile, we see all of the iconic lines he's written and cinema-changing moments he's had a hand in, from writing Robert Shaw's amazing USS Indianapolis speech in Jaws to teaching Arnold Schwarzenegger how to hold a sword for Conan.

He’s been in, approximately, a billion movies; he’s been a politician, a Mr. Universe (five times!), a bodybuilder, a model and a public speaker. But he’s known for his one liners above anything else, and Arnold Schwarzenegger knows this.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone in Escape Plan
“Whenever I go to an event, someone asks me to yell out one of my lines. Even when I walk into Starbucks, people scream at me to "Get to the choppa,''' said the larger than life Austrian on Reddit.
Continue reading: Arnold Schwarzenegger Give The Fans What They Want: One Liners!
You know not to expect something deep and meaningful when a movie stars Stallone and Schwarzenegger, and indeed this is pretty much what we expect: a slick thriller that's utterly preposterous but not quite stupid. But the premise has a certain idiotic charm to it, and there are just enough clever touches to keep our brains engaged.
Stallone plays brilliant security expert Breslin, whose job entails being thrown into maximum-security prisons so he can find the weakness in the system. Clearly unbothered by being beaten and brutalised by guards and inmates, Breslin is backed up by a support crew (Ryan and Jackson) and his business partner (D'Onofrio) back in the office. But now the CIA wants Breslin to check out its new top-secret enemy combatant lock-down. To do this, Breslin must go off the grid. And when he realises that the evil warden Hobbes (Caviezel) isn't playing ball, he teams up with brilliant scientist inmate Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger) to, yes, plan an escape.
As the story develops we get the feeling that the screenwriters sat around thinking of ways they could make this prison increasingly impossible to believe. Indeed, one mid-film twist is so incredible that it actually makes us admire the writers' audacity. Arthouse director Halstrom gleefully indulges in all of this silliness, keeping the imagery sharp and cool while name-checking pretty much every cliche of both prison and heist movies. There's even a bit of political context in the way a private contractor is abusing the system to profit from the War on Terror.

The actor's demands of $1 million-a-day were just too much for the film's producers, so Willis walked away from the project, only to be replaced by Harrison Ford
Bruce Willis was set to become the latest action star to join forces with Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the rest in the upcoming Expendables 3. Unfortunately though, Willis won't be channelling his inner John McClane in the next Expendables film after all, as the Hollywood Reporter have revealed that due to contract disagreements, the actor has decided to walk away from the project.
Bruce demanded too much money from the Expendables team
On Tuesday (6 August), Stallone tweeted that Willis was out of the upcoming action project and Harrison Ford was in. He then went on to tweet, "GREEDY AND LAZY ...... A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE," to allude to his wage demands, but didn't follow-up his message with any kind of explanation as to why this happened. A day later, THR cleared up any confusion by confirming the reason behind Willis' axing, saying that it was his massive wage demands that made him surplus to requirements on the film. According to THR, Willis was offered $3 million to feature in the film, meaning he would have to take four days out of his busy schedule to film scenes on location in Bulgaria. It turns out that Willis wanted $1 million-per-day, threatening to walk away from the project if his demands weren't meant.

Ray Breslin is an expert in structural-security and has been able to break out of every prison he has been placed in using highly skilled and unusual methods. However, when he is asked to design an escape proof prison for the country's biggest life-sentenced felons, he finds himself betrayed when he is subsequently kidnapped and incarcerated by a masked figure in that prison with no way of getting out. Swan agrees to help, but this time it's going to take more than just clever methods to break free and find the people who double-crossed him.

20th Century Fox had announced a 'special surprise' at Comic-Con 2013, and an all-new addition to the Predator franchise may well be the surprise
It looks like we might have yet another addition to the Predator movie franchise, with the official movie fan-page uploading a cryptic image onto their page and setting into motion a frenzy of anticipation surrounding a potential follow-up to 2010's Predators. As The Hollywood Reporter pointed out, "20th Century Fox's has promised 'a huge surprise' for its San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday, which is still showing up as 'TBA' in terms of details on the official Comic-Con schedule."
Could Arnold be back fighting Predators?
A surprise, yes, but a good surprise? You'd have to forgive us for being a little dubious about this. As utterly amazing the Schwarzenegger-starring 1987 film was, the Danny Glover starring 1990 follow-up wasn't nearly as good as the first and despite a promising cast and a production credit from cult movie mastermind Robert Rodriguez, 2010's Predators was frankly a disappointment, so where does this leave a follow-up to the last Predator outing? Each of the post-2000 Predator films, including the Alien vs Predator movies, were pretty weak and it would take something special for 20th Century Fox to up their game and make another memorable Predator film, but for all we know the next outing from the ultra-advanced sentient humanoid alien race could be worth writing home about.
Could a fourth movie in the franchise really be happening?
The rumors and speculation that precede Comic-Con are almost as exciting as the event itself. Well, not quite, but you get the picture. The latest thing to be excited about is a photo posted on Predator’s Facebook page, sending geeks everywhere into raptures at the notion of a new Predator movie.
Arnie starred in the first, but will he make a return? Even a cameo?
"There's something out there waiting for us, and it ain't no man… We're all gonna die," reads the text on the picture, which appears to be a thermal image – a motif for the franchise. This is, as you’ll know if you’re reading this a quote from the original 1987 Predator movie, spoken by Sonny Landham's Billy. It's accompanied on the image by the hashtag #HuntthePredator.
Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, the hospital in West Hollywood where many of the rich and famous go for treatment, has fired six staff after 14 patient records were "inappropriately accessed."
It's the medical facility where new parents Kim Kardashian and Kanye West spent thousands on receiving exclusive care ahead of daughter North West's birth, but now Cedars-Sinai has had to admit that patient security was breached on 14 separate occasions by unauthorised staff between 18th-24th June, all six of whom have now been fired. All patients whose details were accessed have been notified.

The LA Times reports that of the six staff who were fired for improperly accessing patient records, "four were employees of community physicians who have medical staff privileges at the hospital, one was a medical assistant employed by Cedars-Sinai, and one was an unpaid student research assistant."
